Haven't went shopping in days. . ..

Something must be wrong with me.
I haven't went shopping in days, and haven't even
had the urge to do so.
Honestly I think I might have gotten a little
coupon shopping burn out.

For July I am going to be trying to cut my grocery shopping
down from 4-5 days a week to 2-3 days a week.
Not only to save on gas due the rising prices.
But I always seem to be running around grabbing
deals, instead of tackling other things around the house
that need done.

I am going to use this Friday, July 4th
to sort, and organize ALL my coupons.
Hopefully I make it out alive. LoL

We are going to celebrate our 4th of July with
family & friends on Saturday.
An then of course we will be back to the flea market
on Sunday to sell lots of goodies and make lots
of money to get some more debt paid off.

Finished up June Monthly CVS Deals

It always seems like I am late to catch the boat with
certain deals lately. Just like this time with CVS monthly
June deals. Dh and I ran to 3 differant cvs stores,
did multiple transactions, and still was not able to
max out all the deals.

This is how we did overall with multiple transactions:

Total ecb used: $39.93
Total ecb earned: $24.96
Total spent oop: $6.79

We did use more ecb then we earned.
Which is not how we normally do it.
But at least our out of pocket was low.

Bogo Lifesavers & Schick Refills

Wow it has been almost a week since I last posted.
Sorry about that.
Been so busy crazy with things here at the house.
an things still haven't slowed down a bit.

I feel so overwhelmed with running around,
tracking deals down, to make some extra cash at the flea market.
To help pay down as much debt as possiable this summer.
That I am going nuts.

I can't complain to much.
Since we really have scored some great deals
in the last week.

On Saturday we moved our indoor space
at the flea market to a larger area. $3 a more a week
but we have A TON more room to display and sell things now.

The weather was awful on Sunday so we didn't setup outside
and sell. We just were inside at our new booth and sold a TON!
We are now in a high traffic area, unlike before which helps.

A Quick Coupon Run = FREE Wheat Thins

I know I am crazy. Most couponers are. LoL

A friend that lives near me, posted on HCW

that she had seen some of the new HOT coupons

at a local store for Free Kraft items.

An that she had left a bunch there.

As I am reading the thread about where she had

seen the coupons. The phone rings, and it is dh.

He is done with his second job, and ready to be picked up.

I am so full of excitement about the coupons being near

by, almost within my grasp, I stumble over my words with

him on the phone.

I hang up with him, jolt out the door even leaving the tv on,

to drive 2 miles down the road to pick him up.

Telling him about the coupons, and asking him if he

knew where the store in question was located.

(After living here 2+ years, I still don't know that area very well)

We looked up directions, and out the door we went again.

I was so thrilled to see not 1, but 2 tear pads of coupons!!!!

I took a bunch, but still leaving plenty for others.

We went and cruised some aisles checking some

prices on a few items. Along our aisle cruising,

I spotted some more awsome peelies, tearpads,

and hangtags.

We ended up getting:

3 Boxes of Jello (A Kraft product)

1 Family Size of Wheat Thins

Used one of the FREE Wheat Thins coupons

wyb 3 kraft products, and also had a coupon for Jello

Spent: $ .20! oop

WAGS Dixie Deal - No Coupons Needed!

I read today about a deal at WAGS (Walgreens) on Why ASK Why
It is for Dixie paper plates and bowls. The best part, you don't need

any coupons to do this deal, except for what can be found in the store.

(The B1G1 Coupon is in the weekly flyer, which can be found in the store

And the $3 coupon prints out at the register. Rinse & Repeat)

I never normally shop at WAGs simple because they never have anything

in stock to do the deals. Plus I can't wrap my brain around all the deals there.

But here is the info on the deal: (Good until 6/21/08)

I bought the Dixie Ultra plates that are on sale with the in-ad Walgreen's coupon B1G1 for $3.79.

A coupon printed for $3 off the purchase of 2 Dixie Ultra products.

I went back and bought two more B1G1 for $3.79

minus the $3 coupon and got them for $0.79+tax.

I, again, got another coupon and went back and did the

same deal 4 more times, getting the same printed coupon every time.

It is being reported that the Dixie Blue and White Ultra plates

22 count and bowls 28 count are the items working for this deal.

Someone also bought the regular Dixie saucers and they worked too!!

I got a coupon for $3 off the purchase of 2 Dixie Ultra products

Repeated the deal using the $3/2 coupon with the B1G1 store coupon and got two more packages of plates for $1.06 OOP!

Rinse & Repeat, Rinse & Repeat until you have what you want,
or the shelfs are empty. LoL

I got a total of 8 Packages of the 16in 22count plates

Since that is all they had left. But I plan on stopping

by a couple differant WAGs tomorrow and Saturday

to see if they have more in stock.

On Sunday while at the flea market, I was walking by

one of the regular sellers booths.

An saw that he had large packs of sponges for $1

I REALLY needed sponges. An with us trying to be frugal

I haven't bought any because they are so costly.

(I prefer them for washing pots and pans, and scrubbing the sink)

Well I figured how bad could they really be right?

So I bought 1 package of them.

Opened them up today and used one for washing a sink full of dishes.

Nothing more, thats it. Oh my goodness, they are so bad I

don't even want to give them away to someone else to use.

Not even worth free!

I of course went looking to see what company they are from.

Then I realized why not only they were so cheap,

but also why they were such poor quality. Urgh!

I normally don't buy things made in China.

I should have known better.

You surelly do get what you pay for.

We have been reguarly getting deals at the store
to take and resell at the flea market. Making a decent
profit. Which in turn has been helping us pay down our debt.
(We have been following Dave Ramsey's baby steps)

So we have been trying to keep $60 in a separate
envelope then our weekly $35 grocery money.
An when we are going Flea market deals.
We just make sure to do them in differant transactions
then our groceries. Makes everything simple, and
easy to keep track of with money, receipts, etc.

We went on Tuesday night to do some
deals for the flea market and some groceries.

Last night dh needed the car for his second job.
But we also needed to hit Giant Eagle before the sale ended that night.
We normally go out after he is done working 10 or 11 at night.

But I was getting sick on going out so late.
With his work schedule this week, it worked out great.
For us to be able to go before his second job.

So we went each with a cart, an each did a transaction.
We did pretty well. Plenty of things for the flea market
and a bunch of goodies for us as well.

Which were B1G1, plus I had a $2 off 2 coupon!
I checked to see if they had any of the Honey Nut Cheerios
in stock that were on sale 5 for $10
Of course they were out of stock.

I did remember to get a raincheck at customer service
for 20 boxes of the honey nut cheerios.
I ordered coupons on ebay for .75/1
When they arrive I will use the raincheck
and get them for .50cents a box!

We went home and cleaned out a bunch of empty boxes,
garbage and recycling. (It is garbage night)
An I remembered I needed Milk.
So we went to the Giant Eagle that is right near our house.
(Differant then the one mentioned above)

I figured I would check the All Bran Bars and drinks again.
I normally check them every time I am in a Giant Eagle or
Walmart. Since they have been having Try Me Free instant
coupons on them.To my amazement they have them!!
I yelled woohoo! LoL
I am sure some people in the store thought I was nuts.
But who cares. I love Free stuff!

They were also out of the Honey nut cheerios
and I meant to also get a raincheck there.
But didn't remember it until we were in the driveway.

Went and recycled newspapers and found a bag full of coupon inserts! Yay!
Oh the savings people are missing out on.

Saturday didn't turn out to be a huge shopping day as I had expected.
We had heard about a store that doubles every day upto $1.25
An triples upto .50 on Tuesdays. The store is a bit of a drive for us.
But we were already near it on Saturday so thought we would go check it out.
I got all my hopes up for nothing.

Everything is WAY overpriced, even with coupons. You still wouldn't be getting that great of a deal with the items at regular price. The only way you might get some deals, are if the item was on sale at a good price and you had coupons.
But then is it really worth the gas money?

We only bought some homemade pepperoni bread while there
to eat for lunch @ $3.99 So yummy and had leftovers for dh for mondays lunch.
We did go to 2 CVS stores on Saturday night though.
We were so excited to see that they finally have a scanner
at the one store that prints coupons!!! Yay!!!

Quick Walmart Run

Ran to Walmart last night for a few things.
I had printed off some more $1 off 2 Dr. Pepper Coupons
so wanted to pick a few more of those up.
(You can print of 2 per email address every day)

A friend had send me some coupons for
Free Land O'Frost 1lb lunchmeat.
Sadly my walmart did not carry the type the coupon
was good for.
So I grabbed 6 2Lt Dr. Peppers
Then went to check and see if they had restocked
the Kotex yet.

They had partially restocked the kotex.
I grabbed 6 for the coupons I had with me.
I have 20 more coupons I need to cut out of the news
papers I have from last weekend.
An I have a friend sending me 25 more as well.

I needed to pick up some cat litter
to make my 2 cats at home happy.
I picked up 1 container of litter.
But was sad when I realized I had
forgotten my litter coupon at home.

I would have just put the litter
back and gotten it another day when I
remembered my coupon.
But the cat's really needed the litter TODAY!
An I am sure they would have banished me from the
house if I would have came home empty handed.

But we had to take care of some things at
home, so they were closed when we got there.
The sale goes on for a few more days.
So I will be sure to get there before the sale ends.

Today I am going to be taking a break
from running to the stores for deals.
I need to get some coupons organized here
at home. An get ready for a BIG shopping
trip tommorrow, Saturday afternoon!

Last night I used the car while my husband when to his second job.
So I went into Walgreens since I heard that they had some Viactive on clearance
for $3 and a $3 coupon in thier weekly flyer. (So would have been free with their coupon)
Sadly they did not have any on clearance at my store.
I figured I would check back in a couple of days to see if that changes.

So then I stop into Giant Eagle which is right next door to Walgreens.
Their weekly sale was going to be ending that night so, I wanted to grab a few things
before it ended.
Coke was on sale 5/$5 - I grabbed 1
100 Calorie Packs were on sale 2/$5 - I grabbed 2
Oscar Mayer Singles were on sale 2/$3 - I grabbed 2

Then I headed over to the health and beauty area.
I had a raincheck for Schick Intuition 3pk refills.
The raincheck was written as BOGO (Buy one get one Free)
I had $4 off 1 coupons so I asked them to ring up the refills
as half price so I could use a coupon on each one.
Thankfully my Giant Eagle has no problem doing this. :)

Then I had coupons for .75 off 1 Suave Deodorant
They were not on sale, but the regular price is $1.56!

Giant Eagle doubles coupons upto $ .99
So this is how I ended up:

1 Coke 2Lt @ $1
2 100 Calorie Packs @ $2.50 each
2 Oscar Mayer Singles @ $1.50 each
11 Suave Deodorant @ $1.56 each

I plan on reselling the Schick Intuition refills which
should more then make up for the amount out of pocket.

After dh was done with work, we went to Walmart.
I had to return a couple of things that I had bought a differant day.
(Things I had bought without coupons)

When walking in the door, I saw 10pk boxes of Capri Sun
Wild Cherry for $1.97
We normally don't by Capri Sun but I figured it was a decent
price for dh to add to his lunches. So I grabbed 1 box.

Then I had seen that they had Kraft salad dressing for $1.58 each
and my mother in law had just given me 2 coupons each for $1.50 off a bottle.
So I grabbed two dressings, and headed to the Health & Beauty area.

I checked to see if they had any more All Bran with the FREE coupon
peelies attached to the front like the night previous. They did not.
I checked to see if they had restocked the Kotex yet from me
wiping them the night previous. Nope none in site.
So went over to the Bandaids.
40ct Bandaids are sale this week at Walgreens for .99 each
Walmart does this wonderful thing called Price matching.
If you bring in an ad from another store in the area,
They will price match the same item at the same price,
if they carry the item. I would normally just buy the
bandaids at Walgreens, but they have been giving me trouble
when I try to use a $1 coupon on a .99 item.
An Walmart normally does not give me any trouble at all.

When I went to check out, I price matched the Bandaids
and everything else rang up nicely.
I gave her the Kraft dressing coupons first
and then I noticed the total was $6.06 ??? Strange
I didn't think anything of it.
Just gave her 6 coupons for the bandaids
Total came to .18 with tax ???
Strange again, I thought it was going to be higher.
Just figured I had calculated wrong and paid with a quarter from my pocket.

When dh and I were walking away from the register
Dh questioned the amount. We checked, and sure enough
she had taken our $1.50 coupon off 4 times instead of twice.
We were right in front of Customer service.
So told a lady that we owed them $3
And explained the mistake with the coupons.
She smiled, I think she was more shocked that we were honest
then anything. She told us not to worry about it.
I asked 3 more times if she was sure, because I didn't want
the cashiers drawer to be short, get in trouble, etc.
She assured me it would be fine. An for us not to worry about it.

So we left with 3 bags full of goodies for .18!
It surely was the coupon angels looking down on us for sure.
I strongly believe in coupon Karma, an believe you should
always be honest in an oversight regardless if it is in your favor or not.

Crappy Cashier, but Great Savings tonight

Dh and I hit two stores tonight.
Kuhn's (our local grocery store) & Walmart.

At Kuhn's I had 2 rainchecks that were going to expire today.
So I wanted to use them up, plus they had Dial hand pump soap on sale.
I first hit the salad dressing aisle.
I had a raincheck for 10/$10 Marzetti Salad dressing 16oz bottles
Plus I had 30 coupons for $1 off 1 Marzetti salad dressing
Which made them FREE!
We really don't need any more salad dressing. (our pantry is already full)
But Marzetti is really my favorite brand of dressing.
An I figured I would resell a few of the 30 bottles at the flea market.
So grabbed 30 bottles of dressing and then headed over to the dairy aisle.

I had a raincheck for Daisy Sour Cream 8oz 10/$10
Plus I had coupons .50 off 1
The good thing about Kuhn's is that they double
coupons up to .99 So that made the sour cream FREE also.
I had only brought 6 coupons with me. I had more coupons
at home. But I figured we don't go through much sour cream
and they normally only have a shelf life of about a month or so.
So I grabbed the 6 I had coupons for, and headed over to see
if there were any dial left.

In all honesty I expected the dial shelf to be emtpy or pretty
close to it. To my surprise I found 22 bottles!
The dial was on sale 5/$5, I had coupons for
.60/1 any dial pump or bars. They would double making the
dial soap FREE!

So in my cart I had 30 Bottles of salad dressing, 22 Bottles
of dial soap, and 6 Daisy Sour cream. All which would be free.
My hubby doesn't like the total being $0.00
So we decided to pick up a bar of Lava soap which we needed anyways.

The cashier was so nice and friendly.
She joked with us about how mush money we saved.
But how we ended up using a whole tree to print our receipt. LoL

We ended up paying $1.66 which .37 was tax for the dial.
We saved $59.49 (due to some overage from coupons doubling)

We then headed over to Walmart since they are practically next door to each other.
Here is all we got there:

40 Kotex Pantyliners @ $1 each ($40)
3 Honey Bunches of Oats @ $1.98each ($5.94)
14 Bushes Grilling Beans @ $1.25each ($17.50)
2 Bar-S Hot Dogs @ .67 each ($1.34)
8 Dr. Pepper 2Lts @ $1each ($8.00)
5 All Bran Fiber Bars @ $4.48each ($22.40)
8 All Bran Fiber Drinks @ $4.48each ($35.84)

Total Before Coupons: $133.90
Coupons Used:
$1 off 1 Kotex Coupons x 40 = $40
$2 off 1 Honey Bunches of Oats Coupon x 3 =$6
$1 off 1 Bushs Grilling Beans x 14 = $14
$ .25 off 1 Bar-S Hot Dogs x 2 = .50
$1 off 2 Dr. Pepper 2Lts x 4 = $4
$FREE All Bran Bars x 5 = $22.40
$FREE All Bran Drinks x 8 = $35.84

Total Coupon Savings: $122.74
Total Spent Out Of Pocket: $10.91

The cashier was VERY pissy to start with. I guess she normally is not a cashier.
An they were busy an was told to get on a register. Lucky her, we were her first customers.
She was not happy about how much stuff we had, how many coupons there were, etc.

In the end though I was very happy with our deals.

With my dh suggestion, I have decided to start a blog.
If you coupon to the extreme, like I do.
You can understand the rush you get when you bring home a trunk full
of items from the grocery store for less then $50.

If you don't coupon at all, I hope you continue to read my blog,
and learn how you can save your family money too.

A little bit about me and my family.
I am 25, married to a wonderful man since 2004.
I started couponing in the fall of 2006.
Soon after starting I got my dh on board with me.
As he was just as excited about the savings as I was.

I became what I call an extreme couponer in the fall of
2007. I realized instead of just getting 10 of something
I could get 20 or 50 or more of something.
An be able to share with family, friends, donate it or resell it
at a low cost to people that don't coupon.

I was able to give 2 Laundry baskets & 2 18gal rubbermaid
totes OVERFLOWING with food and household items
to friends in need this past Christmas.
All the items had been free or REAL cheap after coupons.
We couldn't afford expensive holiday gifts, so had decided to
do that instead. I think it was the best gift we could have given.
Of course everyone thought we had spent WAY more then we really had.
Normally all those items would have cost $200+ each x 4 = $800 in the store at normal prices.
But we didn't spend over $50 for all 4 Gift baskets!

We plan on doing it again this year for differant people.
An plan on giving out 6 baskets instead of 4.
We have already set items aside for the baskets when
we find a good deal. Now I just have to decide who is getting the baskets!?

I plan on going shopping later tonight at our local grocery store, Kuhn's
and Walmart. Also might hit CVS for some clearanced makeup if I have time.
